Getting a business online usually means a designer for the site, a hosting company for the server and a registrar for the domain, and finding out the hard way that none of the three will take responsibility when something stops working on a Sunday. We do all of it ourselves. One price, agreed before we start, covers the design, the build, the hosting, the domain and the certificate, and there is one person to ring about any of them.

Custom Website Design
Your site is drawn up from a blank page to suit your business, your colours and the way your customers go about buying from you. We work from the brief you give us, come back with a design and change it until it looks right to you. Two firms in the same trade should never end up with the same website, and with us they never do.
Preview Before You Go Live
There are two ways to pay for a site. Paying up front means half to begin and the balance before it goes live, while paying monthly means nothing up front at all and a fixed sum each month across a minimum term of a year. Whichever suits you better, the whole website is built on a private address first, so you can click through every page on your own phone and laptop long before a customer sees it. Both routes are set out in full on the pricing page.
Domain Registration & DNS
We register the domain for you, put it in your own name and set up every record it needs, including the mail records, so your email carries on working through the changeover rather than going quiet for a day. If you already own a domain, we can either move it across or point it at the new site, whichever you would prefer.
UK Web Hosting
Your website sits on UK servers that are watched daily, with the files and the database both backed up every night and the copies kept somewhere other than the machine they came from. Software updates and security patches are part of what you already pay rather than something billed later, which in practice means you never log into a control panel or give a server a moment of thought.
Free SSL Certificate
Every site is served over HTTPS with a certificate that renews itself quietly in the background. That is the padlock your customers look for before they fill in a form or type a card number into it, and a site without one is marked down by search engines as well as by the people reading it. It comes with every project rather than being sold back to you as an upgrade.
Mobile Responsive Design
Most people will meet your business on a phone, often standing outside your shop or sitting on a bus with one hand free. Every page is built for that first and then checked on phones, tablets and desktop machines before it is handed over, so the text stays readable, the buttons stay big enough to press and nothing disappears off the side of the screen.
How It Works

From Brief to Live in Four Steps

At every stage you are told what is happening, what we need from you and what comes next, so there is never a fortnight of silence where you wonder whether anything is being done. Most projects run two to three weeks from the brief landing with us to the site going live, and the one thing that usually slows a job down is waiting on photographs or wording from your end.

Submit Your Brief
Tell us about your business, the customers you are trying to reach and what you want the website to do for you, whether that is taking bookings, showing off finished work or simply being findable when somebody searches your trade and your town. The more you tell us at this stage the closer the first draft lands, and anything you are unsure about we can talk through on the phone.

We Build Your Preview Site
We design and build the whole site on a private address that only you have, then leave you to it. Click through every page, try the forms, show it to your family or your staff over a cup of tea, and come back with as many changes as you need. Nothing is rushed at this stage and nothing is public.

You Approve
When the preview is right you give us the go ahead and settle the balance, and we get on with the technical side of it, registering your domain in your name, setting the hosting up on our UK servers, configuring the records and issuing the certificate ready for launch.

We Go Live
The approved site moves onto your own domain and goes live, and we walk every page, every form and every link on the real address before we tell you it is finished. After that we stay available for the questions, the small changes and the odd thing that needs a second look.

Writing about your own business is harder than it sounds, and it is the single thing that holds most projects up. If you would rather not, we will write it for you from a conversation about what you do, and you approve every word before it goes anywhere near the site.

We come out to you and photograph the business properly, whether that is the premises, the products or the team. Good photography of your own work will do more for a small business website than any amount of design, and stock images are usually obvious to the people you are trying to win over.

The standard hosting suits the great majority of sites. Businesses with large photograph libraries or video hosted on the site itself sometimes need more room, and additional storage can be added whenever it is needed.

A complete online shop with product listings, a basket, card payment through a provider of your choosing, and an admin area for adding stock and managing orders. Cost depends on the number of products and how the postage and options need to work, so it is quoted per project.
